Downtown Chehalis Blooms Under Loving Community Care: 2023 Spring Cleanup
Spring’s arrival brings many things to the small-town residents of Chehalis, Washington: newly re-opened local parks and trails, the return of the farmer’s market, fresh ball fields, and the annual beautification of our downtown Chehalis corridor.
Each year in April, Experience Chehalis hosts a community cleanup effort in the heart of downtown. It’s our way of welcoming spring, and we invite you to join us! Businesses and residents can partake in two ways: by sponsoring a flower planter or volunteering for the Clean Team’s Earth Day litter pick-up crew. Sponsorship of a downtown flowerbed costs $50 and is tax-deductible as a contribution to a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Sponsors can sign up by completing our downloadable form here, or by contacting Experience Chehalis directly at info@experiencechehalis.com or (360) 345-1738.
The Earth Day Cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 22. Call (360) 345-1738 to register – early registrations will earn a free Experience Chehalis Earth Day t-shirt. On the day of the cleanup, check in at the Lewis County Historical Museum at 10 A.M. to pick up your equipment and cleanup assignment. Then, join your crew on the streets of downtown Chehalis for a gratifying day of urban beautification!
Experience Chehalis, the city’s residents, and our businesses are endlessly grateful for the sponsors and volunteers that help maintain our town’s health and charm. We also thank Kaija’s Garden and Pet for their help in supplying the flowers and plants that bring life to our downtown. From the delightful hanging flower baskets (lovingly provided by the City of Chehalis) to the captivating pops of color in every landscaped island, so much of our town’s appeal comes from the caring hands of its residents – and that’s the true magic that makes Chehalis a great place to live year-round!
