New banners now grace the light poles on Louisiana Avenue and Chamber of Commerce Way in Chehalis.  Twenty-four banners feature historic images to further define a sense of place for visitors in the west side shopping district.

The banners are part of an ongoing effort to beautify Chehalis.  It is a joint project between the Chehalis Community Renaissance Team (CCRT), the City of Chehalis and the Lewis County Historical Museum.  The project was designed and funded by CCRT.  Fabrication of the brackets and installation of the banners was accomplished by the City of Chehalis staff.  Photos were provided by the Lewis County Historical Museum.  “We have made incredible strides in our community through beneficial partnerships such as this one,” states Annalee Tobey, Executive Director.

“We hope these banners will add to the shopping experience in this growing area.  Chehalis has a tremendous history and we are proud to have that on display” said Tobey.

This installation is phase three of Chehalis’ ongoing banner project.  Banners were initially installed in Downtown Chehalis in 2017; more were added in 2018.

The banners are part of CCRT’s work plan which includes projects and initiatives focused on community building, economic development, quality design, and downtown improvement.
