BBQ and Train Ride with Dad on the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad June 14th

Take a memorable train ride into the Chehalis River Valley. The Chehalis Centralia Railroad celebrates Father’s Day by offering a full meal BBQ on Saturday, June 14, at 5:00 p.m. Make reservations now to join the fun! The cost is $79 per person; four and under are free. The BBQ with a Train Ride is limited to 100 passengers and must be reserved online prior to arrival. No walk-up tickets are available for the BBQ. Arrive at 4:30 p.m. for a leisurely BBQ; eat on the deck or carry your food onto the train and enjoy your dinner as you ride. At 5:15 p.m., the train will depart the station for a ride into the scenic Chehalis River Valley. Passengers have the option of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is free, and the train is ADA accessible. Departure is at 5:15 p.m., and will return to the depot by 7:00 p.m. Please arrive ½ hour prior to departure and enjoy the gift shop while you wait.

The delicious BBQ is catered by Joy’s Once Upon a Thyme. The main course is BBQ ribs, baked beans, macaroni salad, fruit slaw, and cornbread. Chocolate cupcake with raspberry frosting for dessert, along with lemonade, coffee, and water to drink. Beer and wine will be available for purchase on the train throughout the journey.

General seating and first-class seating are available on Saturday, June 14, at 10 am and 1 pm, and Sunday, June 15, at 10 am, 1 pm, and 4 pm. Fares are $29 for adults, $27 for seniors, and $21 for 5-13 year olds. 4 and under are free.  The two-hour excursion to Ruth, a former rail stop along the old Chehalis Western Train route, is a memorable way to spend the day with Dad. Trains depart the Chehalis Depot at 1101 SW Sylvenus Street, across from the Veterans Memorial Museum. Parking is free. Reservations are required for the BBQ at 5 pm; however, walk-ups are welcome for the regular excursions. Reserved tickets are available online at https://steamtrainride.com/fathers-day-train/
