A summer celebration tradition
The Chehalis Community Renaissance Team hosts the annual summer celebration, ChehalisFest, each year on the last Saturday of July. This event features activities for kids and families, car fanatics and folks of all ages throughout the day in locations across the community.
The day kicks off with the annual blueberry pancake breakfast at the Lewis County Historical Museum and a hot dog lunch is served. Also at the museum, the Bethel Church KidZone will keep kids happy and busy with bouncy houses, an obstacle course, cotton candy and more. Kids will rave about the Young Eagles flights offered free to kids ages 8-17 at the Chehalis Airport.
Downtown Chehalis will be buzzing with summer fun! Shops and boutiques will offer incredible discounts and sidewalk sales, beer sampling, game tournaments and more. From sweet to savory, food trucks and vendors will fill Boistfort Street, so come hungry! Vendors downtown including our local ARTrails artists will offer specialty goods and locally crafted items. Local bands take the stage throughout the day singing the best of classic rock and country tunes.
Take the kids to Whitworth Way outside Westminster Presbyterian Church for games and fun including festivities such as a watermelon seed spitting contest, bubble fun, balloon animals and more! Also, stop by Fun Around the Fountain at the Vernetta Smith Chehalis Timberland Library for more games and activities.
This event is made possible each year thanks to generous sponsors. 2018 sponsors included Advocate Printing, Book N Brush, The City of Chehalis, Lewis County Historical Museum, Port of Chehalis, and the Veterans Memorial Museum.
