Enjoy a meal with your special someone on a vintage locomotive

For Valentine’s Day this year, the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad invites friends and families to enjoy a unique experience on the vintage 1916 steam locomotive, pulling a 1920s dining car through the Chehalis River Valley. Because of its popularity, two additional dates are being added to the schedule this year. Consider giving your sweetheart a dinner train ride for Valentine’s Day. Each train accommodates 60 people and only one excursion is planned each evening.

The Sweetheart Dinner Train excursions are set for Saturday and Sunday, February 9, 10 and 16, 17. The train departs the station at 4:30 p.m. and returns at 6:30 p.m. A four-course dinner is served with your choice of prime rib, salmon or chicken cordon bleu and either champagne or sparkling cider. The cost of the dinner and excursion is $65. Reservations must be made by the Sunday (5 days) prior to the departure date. The last chance for reservations will be February 12. Seating choices and tickets must be reserved online.  Seats are sold in pairs at tables of four, and you may be seated with another couple.

A ride on the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad is a pleasant, scenic and relaxing 2-hour journey back into history. Ride the 1916 #15 logging locomotive through the Chehalis River Valley. Baldwin locomotive pulled log trains for the Cowlitz, Chehalis and Cascade Railroad until the mid-1950s. The train departs from the railroad depot located in Chehalis at 1101 SW Sylvenus Street, across from the Veterans Memorial Museum. More details about events, charters and regular season runs can be found at www.SteamTrainRide.com.
