Experience Chehalis Cleans Downtown Sidewalks

Sidewalks will be power-washed and, as a bonus, all first-floor storefront windows will be cleaned—at no cost to businesses.

To complete this three-day spring cleaning, downtown parking will be temporarily closed in sections. Sidewalks will remain open, and crews will work carefully around pedestrians. As each area is finished, signage will be removed and parking will reopen. Cleaning will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Once sidewalks are cleaned, window washing will follow. City staff will also sweep the streets early the next week to clear any remaining debris from the curbs.

April 23-25, 2025 Cleaning Schedule

• Wednesday, April 23: Crews will clean sidewalks on Boistfort St between Washington and Market Blvd (upper side) and the sidewalks on Market Blvd in historic downtown from Ewe and I to St Helen’s Inn. Parking on this side of the street will be closed on April 23 until areas have been cleaned.
• Thursday, April 24: Crews will clean sidewalks on Boistfort St between Market Blvd and Pacific Ave (lower side) and the sidewalks on Market Blvd from Royal Sushi and Teriyaki to Hub International. Parking on this side of the street will be closed on April 24 until areas have been cleaned.
• Friday, April 25: Crews will clean sidewalks on both sides of Pacific Ave between Hub International and Royal Sushi and from Security State Bank to The Loft. Parking in this area of Pacific will be closed on April 25 until areas have been cleaned.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to keep our downtown clean and refreshed. We understand Monday would be a preferable day to close parking, but our options were limited due to scheduling and the availability of rented equipment.
