Chehalis, WA – Lewis County Public Health & Social Services (LCPHSS) Director J.P. Anderson submitted Lewis County’s application for approval to implement all Safe Start Phase 3 modifications to the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) today. The Lewis County Board of Health and the Board of County Commissioners had approved the application in separate actions this morning.
The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) issued guidelines for COVID-19 case information, with specific performance targets for counties to achieve in order to request moving from Phase 2 to Phase 3. DOH will evaluate applications based on case counts, trends, and each applicant county’s ability to meet those targets now and in the future.
Anderson described the Lewis County application as very strong, saying, “We have hit or exceeded every target that DOH is using to evaluate us. I believe our request proves Lewis County is ready to move into Phase 3.”
The entire application is available online at: https://bit.ly/LCPhase3. There is no word on when a decision will be made by DOH.
