Chehalis WA – A large new sign honors the service clubs committed to making our community a better place. The Chehalis Community Renaissance Team (CCRT) identified this project in 2019, as the former sign was becoming weathered and worn. The sign was installed last week on National Avenue near the Chamber of Commerce Way intersection.
“Our local service clubs work hard to better our community in many different ways. The former sign was no longer showcasing our clubs as they deserve,” said Annalee Tobey, executive director. “It displays the proud appreciation we all have for the volunteers within these clubs.”
The sign includes the logos of six service clubs that support Chehalis. These clubs are Altrusa, Kiwanis, Optimists, Sertoma, Soroptomists, and Rotary. It was provided at no charge to the service clubs. “It’s our way of saying thank you for all you do,” said Tobey.
The sign was erected in partnership with the City of Chehalis’s Parks and Recreation and Wastewater Departments, providing labor and materials for installation. Tobey stated, “As always we thank the City of Chehalis for their support. We accomplish great things working together.”
The service sign project is part of CCRT’s work plan which includes projects and initiatives focused on community building, economic development, quality design, promotion, and downtown development.
