CHEHALIS, WA. The Lewis County Historical Museum launches a brand new festival on September 21st celebrating Kenneth Arnold’s historic UFO sighting in 1947. The sighting generated the term “flying saucer” in the press and kicked off a pop culture mania that exists to this day. The months that followed Arnold’s famous sighting was called “The Summer of the Saucers” and this is the theme for The Chehalis Flying Saucer Party in 2019.

The event includes special museum exhibits, talks by distinguished UFO researchers, flying saucer-themed arts, musical acts, food, and old-school science fiction movies at the Chehalis Theater. The highlight of this year’s event is Kenneth’s Arnold’s granddaughter, Shanelle Schanz, who will speak about Arnold and show never-before-seen documents belonging to her grandfather.

$55.00 VIP event passes include: access to all six speakers and the speaker panel, access to all movies at the Chehalis Theater, access to the Lewis County Historical Museum exhibits, a $10.00 food/drink ticket at McFilers, an event T Shirt, and goodie bag.  Prices for the individual lectures are $10.00. Tickets can be purchased at https://chehalisflyingsaucerparty.brownpapertickets.com/ . Go to the event website www.flyingsaucerparty.org for further details .
